Fous de Bassin It is a large-format show, mounted on water, in which ghostly characters, fire battles, musical flights and incandescent machinery seek to evaporate the expected and give voice to a different world. The French company Ilotopie, directed by Bruno Schnebelin, proposes actions of artistic disorder that question public spaces.
This chimera of water and fire finds an extraordinary setting in Lake Martiánez, which was incorporated in 2015 as a new scenic space for Mueca. The fire emerges in the darkness of the night with a light that illuminates in the water the reflection of a narrative with which Ilotopie proposes to the public an allegorical journey through the social structure.
In Mario Vega's reading of Antonio Lozano's novel, the one who tells the story of Suleimán on stage is the actress Marta Viera, or her character, Isabel, classmate of the Malian boy, protagonist of a difficult journey in pursuit of his dreams. My name is Suleiman It is a story about what moves human beings, told without clichés and in a setting dominated by art and innovation, with an extraordinary animation work developed by Juan Carlos Cruz.
Delirium celebrates 30 years dedicated to the theater scene with Bernarda Alba's house. The mourning for the dead father represses the longing for love and freedom of some women, disturbed by the presence of a man for whom they are capable of dying and killing. The house becomes a prison with a hellish atmosphere. A careful selection of actresses participates: Soraya González del Rosario (Bernarda), Carmen Cabeza (Poncia), Lioba Herrera (Angustias), Nuhr Jojo (Martirio), Carmen Hernández (Magdalena) and Sofía Privitera (Adela), directed by Severiano García.
The group La Pandilla, from Puerto de la Cruz, participates this year in Mueca with its version of There is no thief who does not come for good, by Dario Fo. Directed by Antonia Jaster, they plunge into a hilarious sitcom in which not everything is what it seems. nests is the play presented at the festival this year, Teloncillo, a commitment to theater for babies from 0 to 3 years old. The company invites the public to fly, sing, listen, dance, play and let's nest. The birds will nest on the heads of their little spectators and each baby will take their own.
The oral narrator Félix Albo dwells on the story of a peculiar adolescence, marked by the search for security and the hope lost in The first kiss, while Pepe Maestro "flies" in the air the stories of autobiographies armed with his voice and a broom. In the Stories that dance to you, Cristina Verbena brings to the public stories and words that slip from a melody to form a tapestry of voices that show pieces of life.
The rest of the Mueca 2015 shows are freely accessible in the city's public spaces. The information is available on the website of the Puerto de la Cruz International Street Art Festival: www.festivalmueca.com.
