The Mueca Festival has already begun to take the first steps to celebrate its next edition. The art show that is held in the streets of Puerto de la Cruz keeps open the deadline for receiving proposals for companies and artists who are interested in participating in the 2016 celebration throughout the month of November.

To do this, the organization has set up a space on the Festival's website (https://www.festivalmueca.com), where all interested parties must submit their proposals. The reception of forms remains active until next November 30.

In addition, the dates on which the exhibition will take place are already known. In 2016, it will take place from May 12 to 15. During those days, Puerto de la Cruz will revive what has ended up becoming a cultural milestone in the Canary Islands, with full public acceptance and a first-rate international program.

Mueca is also an example of participatory and innovative management that goes beyond the national territory. Recently, the Festival has been awarded the Canary Knife Award, for the twenty-eighth edition of the Festival del Sur-Three Continents Theater Encounter in Agüimes (Gran Canaria). It is a recognition of the work for the construction of a better society. The exhibition has been deserving of this award for the work carried out through the Cómplices Mueca citizen platform.

The organization, which began shaping Mueca 2016 at the close of the previous edition, will intensify its work starting in December, to set up a program that encompasses theatre, music, aerial dance, clowning, or the circus. Anyone interested in participating in the management, through the Cómplices platform, can do so by contacting the Festival or the City Council Department of Culture; because it is an open platform for work and participation.
