Mueca 2016 schedules more than 100 shows

The International Street Art Festival of Puerto de la Cruz, Mueca, has already defined what its program will be for the next edition, which in 2016 will take place from May 12 to 15. Starting next Monday, April 4, all the scheduled activities, with their spaces and schedules, can be consulted through their website: www.festivalmueca.com

One more year, the open-air art exhibition of the municipality of Porto will have more than a hundred activities selected from the more than 200 proposals received by the organization during the period for receiving applications. This year, this enormous creative framework can be enjoyed by the public from Thursday, the 12th, the date on which the new stage located in the El Peñón Stadium will also be activated and will host various shows such as 'Cambuyón' and ' Concert for two clowns' by the Swiss Les Rois Vagabonds.

Theater, music, humor, clown and the circus will once again be the main axes through which a new edition of an annual event will be developed, which, as happened last year, is expected to attract more than 70,000 people during its days of celebration. To do this, Mueca once again has a varied and powerful cast of artists from different parts of Latin America, Europe, the Peninsula and the Canary Islands. Some of the names of companies that can be found in the program published on its official website starting this Monday are: El Kote, Les Rois Vagabonds, Bris de Banane, Jean Philippe Kikolas, Teatro Paraíso, Clownbaret or Abubukaka, among others.

Also adapting to the increasing influx of visitors (it is expected that hotel occupancy will be 100% during the dates of the celebration), the Puerto de la Cruz International Street Art Festival extends its schedule of activities, reinforces the programming of performing arts in the Plaza del Charco and incorporates new spaces for the development of activities, such as, in addition to the already named Estadio del Peñón, the so-called Calle del Ingenio, which joins the thematic streets already existing in previous editions of La Danza (before of the Movement), of the Music, of the Word, or the Creative.

Mueca presents itself again in this 2016 as a perfect framework for art understood as a panel without barriers, as food to share experiences and enrich their own experience with local, national and foreign proposals, in a continuous and massive communication. which consolidates it as one of the main cultural offers of the Canary Islands.
