The French company Bris de Banane and the trio of Andalusian circus artists Vol'e Temps will take over this Saturday the Puerto de la Cruz International Street Theater Festival with numbers in which acrobatics, humor and juggling will once again turn one more day to Mueca in a great open-air circus.
The Lescop brothers, from the Bris de Banane company, are visiting Mueca these days with a show with cinematographic overtones. Provided with an elastic band, a wooden frame among other accessories, they will try to recreate the best movie scenes and live a bloody thriller. The objective: to dismantle the magic of cinema through the manipulation of objects, juggling, mime and comedy. The Plaza de Europa will host this show starting at 8:00 p.m.
After touring Europe and the Peninsula, Sara Ortiz, Albert Moncunill and Alex Riquelme land in Mueca with the show “Mundos de Papel”. This show by the Andalusian company Vol'e Temps combines humor and spontaneity with circus, theater and dance techniques. The performances will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Espacio Binter del Muelle.
At the same time, the Catalan company La Bella Tour will stage the show “La Bella Tour”. Two surviving clowns from the golden age of the circus, the one in which the public acclaimed night after night the skills of the acrobats and the courage of the tamers, arrive at the Mueca with their circus heritage inside a box and with the sole objective of get laughter from the audience. The play will be performed in the Plaza de Europa.
The viewers of Mueca will travel from 9:20 p.m. to ancient Greece. After the success of these days, the Tenerife company La Pandilla will once again turn Espacio Los Agustinos into Olimpo with its show “La comedia divina”. The work mixes myths and legends from Greek antiquity related to the golden apples from the Garden of the Hesperides, located on the Fortunate Islands.
Before lowering the curtain this Saturday, Mueca reserves a show for its most late-night viewers where laughter promises to be the protagonist. From Galicia comes to Puerto de la Cruz the show "Monologue of the Imbecile". Its protagonist tells us his own biography since his parents copulate him until now. A surreal, tender, comic and fantastic autobiography of an individual who feels displaced by the absurdity of his life and the historical moment in which he has lived. The show will be performed at 11:00 p.m. at Espacio Los Agustinos.
Once again this Saturday, the companies El Kote (Plaza Europa, 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.), Jean Philippe Kikolas (Espacio Aqualia, 6:30 p.m.), Teatro Paraíso (Castillo San Felipe, 6:30 p.m.), Les Bleus de Travail (Espacio Binter del Muelle, 8:00 p.m.), Abubukaka ((Espacio Binter del Muelle, 9:30 p.m.) and the Cambullón assembly (El Peñón, 11:00 p.m.).
Meanwhile, the themed streets of Puerto de la Cruz will remain all this Saturday bringing art, theater, music, storytelling... to passers-by who walk through them.
Calle de la Danza will begin a marathon day of dance at 12:00 p.m. with productions by the companies Javier Ferrer, Tenerife Danza Lab and Anna Borrás. Meanwhile, Calle San Juan, converted by the magic of Mueca into Calle del Ingenio , will feature theatrical performances for the whole family by companies such as Títeres Tragaluz, Tartaleta y Yiyo Ramírez, Mago Leck or Teatro del Alba, among others.
La Música street reserves for this Saturday the concerts of Gloria Medone, Omar Xerach, Kuarembó, the School of Music and Llam & Street Music. Storytelling sessions will continue throughout Saturday on Calle de la Nombre while art lovers will be able to purchase or witness the process of creating an artistic piece on Calle Mequínez, which will become Calle Creativa this weekend.
