The jury of the 2018 Mueca Festival, held from May 10 to 13 in Puerto de la Cruz, made public on Sunday evening the verdict that crowns the company Cía La Tal, with its show The Incredible Box. They have been distinguished with the mention for the best performance of the recently concluded sixteenth edition. Theater, aesthetics and humor converge in Cia La Tal with a proposal that moves away from the classic figure of the clown and approaches the most current clown through the creation of its own universe. The characters, the aesthetics and their stories are the basis of a function that has the punctual support of the word. His show The Incredible Box could be enjoyed in three functions during Mueca, Friday at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday in a double function at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., on the stage located on the Porto dock.

To prepare this verdict that rewards this Catalan company with more than 30 years of experience, the jury valued the humorous quality and the careful aesthetics of its number, as well as its ability to surprise the public.

In the same way, the members of the jury gave an Honorable Mention to the projects Dance in Community (Didactic Programming of the Tenerife Auditorium) and Asmipuerto (Association of Physiologically Mentally Disabled People of Puerto de la Cruz). Danza en Comunidad seeks to bring dance closer to society, working with spaces and groups that it does not normally reach; For its part, Asmipuerto provided the Mueca audience with a theatrical show in which a film director arrives in Tenerife to shoot her first film and has to work with a rather unusual cast.
