Grin closes its 2019 edition with thousands of attendees and a scenic display in which the quality of the shows has reinforced this initiative born by and for culture, its industry and citizens. During four intense days full of optimism, the city of Cross port has beat to the rhythm of more than 80 theater, circus, clown, dance, juggling, musical performances and performances, in charge of 61 companies, exchanging bonds of complicity with the attending public.

The show …Sodade… of the company Cirque Rouages has been deserving of the distinction as best performance of the seventeenth edition of the Mueca Street International Art Festival, which ended today in Puerto de la Cruz. This performance visual stands out for its “creativity, general concept of the work, its aesthetic beauty, precision and technical difficulty” the jury considered.

Golden, from Murcian UpArte, and block, from the British companies Nofit State Circus & Motionhouse, have received a special mention from the jury in an edition that has stood out, in their opinion, for the high level of the shows. In the case of UpArte, "the freshness, search for circus and choreographic limits" has been valued, as well as the "staging" of its spectacular acrobatics. Of Block, the jury has recognized his "young" staging that stands out "for its synchronization and for the evolutionary work" that "surprises from beginning to end".

This year's edition of Grin has had more than a hundred artists from Austria, the United Kingdom, France and Spain, who have staged performances or performances that extol the essence of street arts to works that invite reflection on current social issues, also more poetic pieces and others that seek laughter and entertainment. All this integrated into a program characterized by the aesthetic, scenic and thematic variety which has been developed in 15 spaces of the tourist city, in addition to the MásMueca establishments that are added to the program with night activities.

In this sense, this year's edition has stood out for the reinforcement of the programming of the thematic streets, with the most innovative and committed proposals of street theater for public of all ages that complement the already consolidated offer in the spaces enabled with stands such as Muelle, Europa and Nicko.

The Mueca International Street Art Festival reaffirms in this seventeenth edition its collaborative nature with a model of cultural management and citizen participation shared between the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Puerto de la Cruz City Council and the Cómplices Mueca platform, a structure that defines its essence and for which it has received numerous international awards. Among the collaborators and sponsors highlighted in this edition are Auditorio de Tenerife, Turismo de Tenerife, Government of the Canary Islands, Urban Development Consortium for the Rehabilitation of Puerto de la Cruz, Ashotel, Fundación Loro Parque, Fundación CajaCanarias, Fundación Bancaria La Caixa, Aqualia and Toyonorte.
