The International Festival of Street Art in Cross port Mueca has presented the advertising spot for this twentieth edition. In it, the city of Porto is visualized, in its daily life as a historic municipality open to cultural exchange, in which we can still imagine how in the past new ideas and knowledge arrived at the emblematic fishing pier, brought by multitudes of travellers.
However, while the neighbors and visitors enjoy a sunny day, something emerges from the sea. It is not a bird nor is it a plane, it is the gesture of this edition, represented in giant corporeal figures made in 3D.
This gesture is based on the visual conceptualization of the 20th anniversary through the use of hands and the gestural discourse of sign language to represent mimicry, grimace, theatricality and spectacle, as fundamental axes of the festival, and the inclusiveness of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
